Welcome home, cattle egrets@牛背鹭的栖息地

在双溪布洛活动的白鹭主要是小白鹭，细长的黑嘴巴加上黑腿黄爪子。而在草地上四处觅食的白鹭主要是牛背鹭，黄嘴黑腿，据说繁殖季节会变成红嘴红腿，外加橙色的蓑羽。

有一片依水傍高球场的小树林，是数百只牛背鹭的宿舍。它们傍晚六点多陆陆续续回来。

Last year we noticed a place which serves as the home for hundreds of cattle egrets. Most of them left Singapore around March this year. Today we go to this egret heaven and found they are back.

有时三三两两，有时成群结队

After 6pm, egrets fly back
早回似乎青睐树梢
They stay at the top of the tree

六点半左右，更多鸟儿回巢

Around 6:30pm, more egrets back

猛禽掠过，所有牛背鹭飞了起来，场面蔚为壮观

Two Brahminy kites came and all egrets fly to the sky

它们为了合适的位置，争吵着，闹着

最后，安静得入睡了，明早七点又要外出觅食了
